This week on the show Micheal sits down with Richard Walter to talk about screenwriting and storytelling. Richard is a bestselling novelist and has had numerous screenplay projects with the major Hollywood studios and the biggest television networks. For more than forty years, Richard chaired the graduate program in screenwriting at UCLA. He’s the author of such screenwriting books as: Essentials of Screenwriting, and The Whole Picture.
Richard’s former students went on to write for Steven Spielberg, and have won three Academy Awards for Best Screenplay. The students that have taken his classes were screenwriters of: Jurassic Park, The Terminal, The Office, The Simpsons, Thor: The Dark World, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Carlito’s Way.
